SOLU

SOLU  is an artistic laboratory and platform for art, science and society. Solu is part of the BioArt Societies transformation from being exclusively an artists association into a larger entity which incubates the development of hybrid art and natural science activity.

Solu will play as host for the majority of our static and installation focused projects during the festival, it will also feature some select workshops and experiential projects throughout the week.

The Bioartsociety is an association based in Helsinki with more than 80 members from Finland and other countries. It was established in May 2008 at the Kilpisjärvi Biological Station in Lapland. The Bioartsociety is developing, producing and facilitating activities around art and natural sciences, with an emphasis on biology, ecology and life sciences. Together with the Kilpisjärvi Biological Station of the University of Helsinki, it runs Ars Bioarctica, an art and science program with a focus on the sub-arctic environment.
